Over the last year I have treasured spur of the moment get togethers with friends. Housework can always wait and if they are true friends they won't care if you sideboards are dusty. A few weeks ago I tried to organise a get together with some girl friends and their kids over the school holidays but it was too hard to get all in the same place at the same time.
Today Paula and Erica came up for morning tea. Well the day was so special it turned into lunch and then a cuppa before they made a mad dash home to get the kids from school. They got out just in time before they closed the roads and put up barricades and only allowed locals to and fro. They would have gotten out ok but no one was allowed in.
I got the fire roaring before they came as I know how cold it feels when you are not used to our temps up here. It was pretty cool when they arrived and already snowing. Such a pretty sight. I am sure if I had to shovel snow each day though I wouldn't feel the same. Erica presented Paula with a beautiful album all the POS girls had contributed too whilst she was on holiday. It snowed and snowed and snowed. Normally when we get snow it's between rain showers. We usually get half a dozen snow showers each year. Today it began snowing at 8.30 and stopped at about 12.30 (with no rain) with a bit on and off all afternoon and it's still snowing on and off now (trampoline, bbq, table etc is white). The snow settled a little to take some pics. I had my lovely winter hat (all locals wear these lovely knitted creations bought at the local market) and Jason's steel capped gumboots. A great look you must agree. As all scrapbookers know. If it snows then you must bring out the continental cuppa soup freebe umbrella (thanks to Erica) and my wizz bang model umbrella, just to put Erica's to shame lol, to protect expensive camera's at all costs from the snow and water.
We had a ball. I have not laughed so much in ages. After a bit of snow fun we had lunch and then sprawled in front of the fire on the carpet with a cuppa and a heap of scrapbooks. A great day girls. I didn't want it to end. Here are a few snapshots. You guys make me so happy and so glad to have such special friends.

I had the best day Dawn - it was just so fantastic!!! The falling snow was so relaxing for this Aussie who hardly ever sees it!!
As for my brollie- a total crack up!!! Like you said us scrappers have to protect their camera's at all costs :-)

Isnt it amazing to think of all the different weather conditions over the last 7 months. Bushfires, floods (here), snow (there), drought!

Sounds like your enjoying the snow,,we have had a few days driving the girls to school where a farmers paddock about 40mtr x40mtr have just been frozen over it's been an awsome site. Icicles haging from the power lines and the fences..one was half a k long...well -4 and still rockin..I smile greatly to know you have good time with friends..
