This afternoon when the girls got home from school we took them a couple of km's up the road into the forest (same as the one we live in and same road they filmed Charlotte's Web on) where it's about 100 metres higher. There was two to three inches of snow. It was fun seeing their excitement as we left home and the snow on the sides of the road got bigger and bigger. Lucky we had the four wheel drive as we had to put it into four wheel drive. Not a hard drive but very slippery.
We took a neighbours daughter with us as well. We had such a good time. We took a couple of boogie boards and used them as toboggan's on the hills. We saw kangaroo's in the snow. They looked so cold. The kids has snow ball fights. Leah and Rachel made snow angels. All three girls bought home huge bags of snow to make snow cones lol. The snow is still sitting on the back veranda and they have been in and out making drinks by adding some cordial. It's only 1.3 degrees (under the veranda eave) outside so no chance of it melting. It was slippery, but so beautiful. The snow on the tree tops, gum leaves and on the ferns was just stunning.
More snow is predicted tonight and tomorrow. J told me he saw a report online that said snow falls overnight to 500 metres and settling and snow down to 300 metres in flurries. Lots of white stuff and cool temps but not really cold. Not a lot of wind today although last night before the cold front arrived it blew a gale.
