Hair News

It's growing. I have blond hair that is about 1cm long all over (you can see this in the bottom photo but not the top one). This hair grew just before chemo number five. A lot fell out after chemo number six again but a lot of the blond stayed. A few weeks ago dark hair started growing. It looks quite black. This is about 1/2 cm long. Still not very thick but it's getting there. In a few weeks I will stop wearing a hat. I'll have the GI Jane look lol. Just don't want to risk getting sun burnt.

After I finish radiotherapy I am having a nevis mole (the black spot on the bottom photo) removed from my head. I have had it checked by a few doctors and they are not worried about it but they gave me the option of having it removed just so I don't have to keep getting someone else to check it.

All other body hair is growing faster than the hair on my head. Always the way isn't it. I have enjoyed not worrying about shaving, waxing or plucking. Eyebrows are all regrown. Had to pluck them the other day. I will wait till they are a little thicker before I shape them. Leg hair used to be quite fair but has regrown very dark.

I have a fine blond fuzz all over my face. Like a newborn baby lol. It is so soft especially on my forehead. On my arms, legs and back my skin was feeling very bumpy and rough. We realised that it was all my hair follicles and new hair was starting to appear. It is quite amazing how your body begins to repair itself after chemo.
