Smooth sailing today. I took snacks and frozen drinks for the girls and they waited for me with one of the staff in the waiting room. The hospital where I have to go for treatment is in a private hospital and the buildings are really old. The girls loved how ornate the rooms were etc Very pretty.
The girls and I were there about 1.5 hours. The radio guys lined me up and zapped me. Other than the noise of the machine you would not know it's happening. One thing I did notice was that the radio room smelt weird. A little like burnt hair/flesh (not that I know what burnt flesh smells like) or something.
After finishing radio I went to see the nurse. She gave me the rundown on looking after my skin etc and gave me some special sorbolene cream to use at this stage. There are a couple of side effects and a few rarer ones. Felt good after my treatment and still do.
Today has been stinking hot. Forty degrees I think in the shade let alone the sun. The girls swam on and on in the pool all afternoon. For once am grateful for no hair as I was sweating so much on my head (bald) let alone with hair lol. We lost power twice tonight due to the bush fires burning down power lines in Victoria. Victoria lost power nearly state wide. Once at four and it came back on quite quickly once the back up kicked in and then after five for about two and a half hours. We ventured outside to watch the kids in the pool, water a few plants etc The mozzies were biting big time.
After the power came back on I jumped in the shower. As I was undressing I noticed a huge blood blister type circle on the back of my shoulder blade. I also had a few small ones on my foot. I had been itching my foot outside due to mozzies biting but the mark on my back is huge and completely round and I hadn't scratched my back. I gather a side effect from radio so will check it out tomorrow. My skin has always bruised easily so I wonder if it just very sensitive after radio.
