Our Fluffy Visitor

For years we have had a Tawny Frogmouth Owl that frequents our garden at night. They are quite comical to watch. As you approach them they pretend to be a branch and stretch their neck out on an angle as stay completely still.
This morning I noticed a fluffy looking bird sitting on top of the arbour in the backyard. First thoughts were it's a white owl and then J and I thought it may be a young Kookaburra. We went out to take a look and sitting all fluffed up was a baby Tawny Frogmouth. It must have fallen from it's nest last night during the storm. It only had a few feathers on it's tail and wings and lots of down feathers so it was quite young.
It was so cute pretending to be a branch just like it's Mum. We called the shelter for them to come and collect it. Thanks Damian. I hope you guys can get it to eat so it can be released back here when it's older.

Awww so cute, yet so sad that it's been separated from it's mum at such a young age.
