No joke, it really did. In fact it poured on and off for over an hour. We even had thunder and lightening. The cat nearly $#%%^^ herself and after jumping in the air headed off to hide under Leah's bed. My neighbour told me we had over 20mm. The thunder was so loud. It was so nice to watch it pour. We really need more. After it had finished I went out to check the damage. When pulling away mulch on the garden beds the moisture had only managed to go in a few inches. Always happens when it's heavy torrential rain. Still good to go in the tanks even though the gutters overflowed. We need days and days of good steady rain for the garden though.

We have had rain for the last 2 days, and more on the way only showers but the rain tank is over flowing
