Charlotte's Web

As many of you know we don't live far from where they have filmed the new movie of Charlotte's web. They used a local farm, church and other areas around where we live. It was an exciting time whilst they were filming as there were many famous actors and actresses sighted around town. Many of the local school kids and residents were extra's (we didn't try out for an extra as I was working that day and J couldn't be bothered lining up as it took hours). One of the girls that Kady and Leah danced with at Jazz ballet, Milly Darke, was Dakota Fanning's double.

The movie was filmed on a local farm but there has been huge debates lately with the council over pulling the set buildings down. Tonight it was featured on one of the current affair shows. So far both houses have been pulled down. In these photos you can see one of the houses and two of the barns. there were few spots that you could view the set. When they filmed the carnival it was an amazing sight. You could see the rides etc from the road. These pics were taken on a forest back road. It was very hard to see the set from the main road, except during winter when the tree's lost their leaves. This farm was chosen out of 50 world wide.

The official site is here

This Saturday is the official launch of the movie but it won't be screened until 15th December. Greendale is hosting a market with Charlotte themed bits and pieces on all day. You can win memorabilia and see Dakota's double performing and win premier screenings to the movie where only a selected few will see the first screening.

We can't wait to see the movie and pick out all the local area.

Hi Dawn, the farm houses look great. I heard that the carnival was actually filmed in Heidelberg though, not Greendale?
