Day one and our first stopover for the night was Yambuk. A nice place but horrible amentities (these are meant to be upgraded this year). Yambuk is on an estuary )great fishing apparently) and also has a giant jumbo slide in the sand dunes.
We couldn't swim at the beach due to a large number of sharks in the area as it's close to a seal colony at Lady Pearcy Island. We took a walk along the beach at sunset. We found a seal that a fisherman has told us about. A large seal was dead on the beach (looked like a shark attack) and a young seal was laying on a bed of seaweed nearby unhurt. We gathered it was hanging around it's Mum. We hope it made it out to sea ok as it was so cute.
