An Update

All tests are done thank goodness for now. Very scary but not painful and hardly uncomfortable. I had my mammogram and then they called me back to have a magnified view. Gather they wanted a closer look at my lump. They showed me my mammogram images. I have a large white solid looking mass. It seems pretty contained. She said it didn't appear to be a cyst and that I would have to wait until next week for the doctor to tell me the news. She said it doesn't look too good especially with my discharge from my nipple has changed from yellow to blood like over the last few days. My ultrasound showed a solid black lump. So looks like no fluid. They also checked for blood flow around it.

It all seems pretty surreal. Most of the day I have felt fine. During and after I felt very teary during the day and tonight. I think a glass of red is on order lol.

I am pretty sure looking at the images (not that I know squat) that it is a tumour but I suppose time will tell if it's benign or malignant. Like I said I am trying to read the results without knowing nothing. For all I know it could be something harmless.

I hate the waiting game and wished the weekend wasn't in the middle. I plan on keeping pretty busy to take my mind off of things. Will throw out all my old clothing to the op shop lol that doesn't fit and have a massive declutter.

Jason is cooking a nice piece of steak and calamari on the bbq for dinner. Yummo.

Thanks for all my lovely family and friends for thinking of me and keeping me in good spirits.

May Snapshot

This is my monthly snapshot page for May. May was a quiet month. The pic of the layout looks very washed out but isn't in real life. The photo was taken of Kady on her birthday. Poor girl was sick with the flu.

Breast Cancer

I think this is a couple of words that puts the fear of all things into a woman. Everyone knows someone who has been affected by Breast Cancer. They say early detection is the best prevention and I am hoping they are right.

Over the last week I have noticed some changes in one breast. Early this week I discovered a lump. This lump is about the size of a 5 cent piece, maybe slightly larger. I check quite regular as most woman should but I cannot remember if I checked last week or three weeks ago. My mind is a bit of a blur right now.

Yesterday I went back to my doctor. I had already seen him Monday and he put my changes down to hormonal changes due to coming off a contraceptive injection. Back to yesterday I went back to confirm my worst fears that there really was a lump there and he found it straight away. Due to the other changes he has booked me in as early as possible for a mammogram and an ultrasound tomorrow morning.

This is the most scariest thing I think I have ever been through. It even beats childbirth. I have had wonderful support from my family and my scrapbooking buddies from Piles Of Scrap. I am sure the lump will end up being nothing but that really doesn't stop everything going through your mind. You try not to imagine the worst but somehow yukky thoughts slip in.

I am trying to remain positive. For those who drop by you will notice the strange woman cleaning and decluttering like a mad woman to take her mind off of things. I have even agreed to let quite a few of Kady's mad tweeny friends come over today just so the day will pass more quickly.

Anyway send good vibes my way tomorrow please. I won't find out the results until at least Monday or Tuesday. It's going to be a long weekend.

Week Two

of the holidays and gosh they have flown. The girls spent the night at their grandmothers again last night and came home this morning. They had a great time running around their ten acre block and playing with the twins who live next door.

I have been doing some gardening today. Pulling out a creeping daisy that has engulfed every other plant in it's way in my cottage garden. Still a lot more to do. Also need to buy some more plants to fill in some gaps where I have pulled stuff out.

Here are a few sites we love in this house.

This is a great site if you want to do a general recipe search or you can type in ingredients you have in your pantry and it will find a recipe for you.

These are a few for the kids. Great fun for school holidays and for school projects etc

Make sure you buy the latest Scrapbook Creations. I have a digital article in the bonus mag with some great tips. Lots of lovely pics too of my girls and my nieces as well as other with the article.

In the main magazine check out my Top Ten feature. Lots of lovely contributions from the super talented girls this month. They have all produced some awesome frames.

For all those who stop by and take the time to read my blog make sure you take part in the trivia quiz each day. The link is on the right hand side. It's lots of fun.

Soldier Crabs

Kady and Courtny collecting Soldier Crabs at Tin Can Bay.

Summer 06

The girls in our paddling pool over Summer. We had a lovely hot and very dry summer this year.

Australia Day

A layout using some photos of the girls on Australia Day.

Blue Skies

The sky is so blue today. No clouds anywhere. We have been having real autumn weather. Cold frosty nights and perfectly still warm days.

Some Pics

Took this photo yesterday of Leah and Kasey. Look how fluffy Kasey is with her winter coat. You can't even notice that she only has three legs when she is sitting down as her fur is so long.

Some Pics

Can't wait to see this little dude in September. Can't wait to kiss him to bits.

Some Pics

Missing all these guys like crazy. Can't believe it's been nearly a year already since we saw them.

School Holidays

have started. After a super long term due to the Commonwealth games, the girls are finally on school holidays again. Love school holidays. Love not rushing around. Love sleeping in.

Kady and Leah are off to Jason's Mums place for a few nights today. I am working on Wednesday so she is taking them to see Cars at the cinema. How lucky are they. They are so excited. They don't often go to the cinema so it's a real treat.

We don't have much planned for these holidays. Lots of relaxing. Jason has Monday off (RDO) so we may go for a picnic somewhere or hit the shops (if I ever get sent my cheques from a certain company. Only owed $1300 but was surprised yesterday when a cheque for $8 arrived. Not happy Jan.).

The Long Weekend

Has everyone had a lovely long weekend for the Queen's birthday?

Kady, Leah and I have had a girly weekend. Lots of dvd's, scrapbooking, junkfood, lollies and relaxing whilst all the boys are off on their annual boys weekend. The guys are camping up on the Murray between Swan Hill and Mildura. They haven't had much luck catching any Cod or Crays. Lots of little ones but nothing big. The night's have been below zero but between the warm swags, the fire and a few too many drinks they seem to be handling it fine.

My friend Lou came over last night. We had a fun night. A few glasses of wine and the night spent chatting. We had planned on watching some girly dvd's but that never happened. It was a good night anyway.

Today we went to the local winery. They had their annual craft market on. We didn't come away with any goodies except a bottle of their lovely Redemption Port. MIL and friend also couldn't resist. It's a nice drop on a cold winters night by a warm fire.

Kady and Leah are hooked on this website http://www.stardoll.com/dolls

and I have taken a liking to this site http://www.freecycle.org/

It's Snowing

It a warm three degrees here today. Bet you all want to move here haha.

It has been snowing on and off all morning. It won't settle as there is rain and sleet as well and it's not really cold enough to last.

Dad bet you are glad you decided to go to Texas this weekend instead of coming down here. Would have been a little chilly in our swags.

A Few Layouts To Share

Handwrote the title on this one using white pen. Not sure if I like it but it's done. More garden photos. These photos were from the Garden of St Erth.

A Few Layouts To Share

This is a layout of a Red Cross Garden party I went to with my MIL. Leah was home sick from school but had a miraculous recovery by late afternoon. Funny how that happens. I must admit though she had been sick for three days with a stomach bug and that day I kept her home just to make sure she was over it.

We paid $15 each (adults) and all proceeds went to the Red Cross. The journaling says how living in a rural area we don't have Red Cross door knocking and this is the locals way of donating. We had a lovely lunch all donated by local businesses and got to walk around the beautiful gardens at a local rural property.

A few Layouts To Share

Kady has decided she is too old now for all the stuff in her room and wants to pack it all away in boxes and redecorate. My girl is growing up. I thought I would photograph her room before we pull it apart in the next few weeks and replace the teddy bears with scented candles etc

Think Pink

and no I am not pregnant.

We are all affected by cancer in one way or another. It can be a family member a friend or a work mate. Let's hope we can find a cure in our life time, if not in our childrens lifetime.

It's pink ribbon time again and my wonderful friend Ngaire is doing it again.

Last year Ngaire had her hair shaved off to raise money for breast cancer research. This year she is holding an online auction to raise more money once again.

Check out Ngai's blog for more details.

http://scrapblogmebaby.typepad.com/blog_me_baby/

Contact Ngai to donate a few dollars or more. It all adds up.

Daily Trivia Tornament

I have added a link to a daily trivia tornament on the right hand side of the blog near the counter.

It's for all who visit my blog who would like to take part once in a while or every day for a bit of fun. The questions are from the general knowledge category and to start off I will keep them easy.

Points accumulate over the month to see who the trivia king or queen is at the end of the month.

Have fun............................................................................

A Quick Share

A quick layout of Leah. I glued paper flowers onto her hat and added some pearl beads in the centre.

Godspeed

A layout for Karens Kupboard using Overton House papers. Sweet Dylan only a few weeks old. How small does he look. I used the lyrics from Godspeed by the Dixie Chicks.

Door Hanger

A door hanger I did for Karen's Kupboard. Love the Daisy D papers on this.

Funny Girl

Another for Karen's Kupboard. Love these papers so much. This is Leah at a Red Cross Garden party back in March. She was home sick from school so she came along with my MIL and I for the charity garden party. By the afternoon Leah was feeling a lot better and started clowning around.

Tractor Ride

Finally scrapped this picture Donna sent me of Dylan enjoying a tractor ride at the shopping centre. He is having so much fun.
